Radical Friends chronicles, critiques and catalyses the potential of Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs) for the arts and beyond. It explores how DAOs offer us new modes of organising and open up the possibilities for peerled architectures which are collectively owned and managed.

The book brings this emergent field to light; revealing how in recent years artists, technologists, mystics and left-wing conspiracists have formed "radical friendships" through DAOs and the blockchain technologies that underspin them, and used them as a stimulus to reshape cultural value systems around interdependence and cooperation.

Edited by Ruth Catlow and Penny Rafferty, this collection compresses five years of research and practice into a toolkit of fierce thinking, radical care, and connectivities that challenge systems of centralised control. Channelling both historic and emergent methods it aims to conjure new imaginative commons and share the blueprints to establish them in the world.
