Poemx, the Knokke Baptismal Public Poem, Knokke, 1970

'Poemx, the Knokke Baptismal Public Poem, Knokke, 1970' bestaat uit twee panelen; het gaat om digitale afdrukken, die elk drie foto’s tonen van de actie 'The Poemx Public Poem' uit 1970, waarbij levensgrote letters van het woord 'POEMX' werden ondergedompeld in de Noordzee. Onderaan staat over de twee panelen gespreid de handgeschreven tekst: '"Poemx", the Knokke Baptismal Public Poem, 1970 - in front of the Casino at the "International Poetry Festival". I wanted to show the new nature of the poem - the human-sized letters were made out of sponge-rubber. As I ritually "baptised" them in the sea, the letters absorbed the salt water, effecting the poetic osmosis of word and world - performing a new poetics for the "poetry" world - thanks to my friend, Paul De Vree, who invited me!'. Van dit werk bestaat behalve een Engelse versie ook een Franse. De versie met Frans onderschrift maakt deel uit van de collectie van de Fondazione Bonotto in het Italiaanse Colceresa. Bij de Franse versie is elke foto apart afgedrukt.
