Description
'Alternative Flags (Sketch)' is een schets voor de gelijknamige aquarel. De schets toont vier ontwerpen voor een alternatieve vlag van Oekraïne. Aan de reguliere vlag van Oekraïne wordt Chychkans' motief van de driehoeken toegevoegd, waarin hij refereert naar het modernistische werk van Heorhiy Narbut (1986-1920) en naar de zgn. 'driehoek van Serpinsky'. De kleuren zwart, paars en rood, gekoppeld aan het geel en blauw van Oekraïne, koppelen de strijd voor sociale rechtvaardigheid aan de Oekraïense onafhankelijkheidsstrijd.
